This policy explains what Slingby (the “App”) does with your information. The App is published by 1+1=2 LLC (“we”, “us”). It applies only to the Slingby iPhone app.
The App has no sign-up, no login, and no user profile of ours. We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, health data, or precise location. We operate no servers of our own and embed no crash-reporting SDK. The only information about how you play that reaches us is the anonymous statistics described below.
The App saves your game locally so it works and remembers where you left off. This data stays in the App’s private storage on your iPhone, and none of it is sent to us:
If you are signed in to iCloud on your device, the App keeps your progress (the scores, streak, route stars and choices above, but not your settings) in Apple’s iCloud key-value store, so it follows you to your other devices and survives reinstalling the App.
This data lives in your private iCloud storage, under your Apple Account. It is handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We have no access to it, no ability to read it, and no copy of it.
Sync is entirely optional. If you are not signed in to iCloud, or you turn iCloud off for Slingby in iOS Settings, the App works exactly the same way and keeps everything on the one device.
If you are signed in to Game Center, the App posts your Endless scores to its all-time and weekly leaderboards, your Daily Sling scores to the day’s leaderboard, and the achievements you earn. A score from a run you continued carries a small mark. The App also reads these leaderboards to show your place and your friends’ scores. Game Center is Apple’s service: it shows your scores to you and, depending on your Game Center settings, to other players, under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We do not receive your Game Center name or account. If you are not signed in, the App plays exactly the same.
Everyone plays the same Daily Sling sky each day. To know which day it is, the App reads the current time from Apple’s website (apple.com) now and then. The request carries nothing about you or your game; like any web request, it reaches Apple from your device’s IP address.
To learn how the game plays (whether first runs are too short, how often players try again, whether the Daily Sling is played), the App sends anonymous statistics to TelemetryDeck, an analytics service built for privacy. They describe how runs go, never who you are:
They contain no name, no Game Center account, no advertising identifier, no location and nothing you type. They are not linked to you, not used for tracking and not used for advertising, and they are not shared with Google or anyone else. Turn them off at any time in the App’s Settings, under Privacy › Share anonymous play stats; nothing more is sent after that.
Without Slingby Plus, the App offers one rewarded video ad per run, through Google AdMob: when a run of 20 or more ends, you can choose to watch it to keep going from your last planet. The ad plays only if you choose it. There are no banners and no interstitials.
The Google Mobile Ads SDK is the only third party that collects data from the App. When the SDK is active it may collect and transmit to Google:
| Data | Used for |
|---|---|
| Device identifiers (such as the identifier for vendor) | Serving and measuring ads, analytics, fraud prevention |
| Coarse location derived from your IP address | Serving and measuring ads, analytics, fraud prevention |
| How you interact with the ads shown | Serving and measuring ads, analytics |
| Advertising data (which ads were shown) | Serving and measuring ads, analytics |
| Crash, performance and other diagnostic data about the SDK | Keeping the SDK working, analytics |
This data is linked to your device by Google. The App does not show Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt, so the advertising identifier is not available to the SDK and the data is not used to track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
Where the law requires your consent, such as in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and some US states, the App shows Google’s consent message before any ad loads, and you can change your choice at any time under Privacy choices in the App’s Settings. If you decline, the App serves only limited, non-personalised ads, or none.
How Google uses this information is described in Google’s Privacy Policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Slingby Plus is a one-time, non-consumable purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes the payment and tells the App only whether you own it. We never see your payment card, billing address, or Apple Account details. Purchases are subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy. With Slingby Plus, the advertising SDK is not started at all, so no ad-related data leaves your device. A record of the purchase is kept on your device so the App starts in the right state offline; your Apple Account remains the source of truth, and Restore purchase in the App’s Settings re-checks it.
When you tap Share, the App draws an image of your run on your device and hands it to the iOS share sheet. It goes only where you choose to send it, and nothing is sent to us.
| Party | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Apple | iCloud sync data in your own account; Game Center scores and achievements; purchase transactions; the Daily Sling’s time check | To sync your progress, run Game Center, process the purchase, and keep the Daily on the right day |
| Google (AdMob) | The advertising data above, only without Slingby Plus | To serve the rewarded ads you choose to watch |
| TelemetryDeck | The anonymous play statistics above, unless you turn them off | To learn how the game plays and improve it |
| 1+1=2 LLC (us) | Nothing from the App; your email, if you write to us | — |
We do not sell your personal information.
Slingby is made for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. It has no accounts and no chat, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us at the address below and we will act on it.
We hold no data from the App. To remove what exists:
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent, without being treated differently for it. Since we hold no personal information ourselves, most requests are best directed to Apple or Google, whose data the request actually concerns (the play statistics are anonymous). We are glad to help you work out how, and you always have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Apple and Google operate globally, so data they handle may be processed in countries other than yours, including the United States, under the safeguards described in their own privacy policies. TelemetryDeck processes its anonymous statistics in the European Union.
We may update this policy as the App changes. The revised version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the App’s release notes.
